Northwest Harnett County Volunteer Fire
DepartmentWord spreads fast in these parts, particularly
between the brotherhood of volunteer firemen. This works to
our benefit, because we’ve designed and built many fire stations
over the years. Take this 16,000 sq. ft. facility near Fuquay-Varina,
NC, which replaced an outgrown fire station across the street.
Fire Chief Chris Prince and his committee visited stations
across the state to examine our work. They learned first-hand
about our unique expertise in handling all aspects of building
large-scale community facilities and our track record with emergency
management staff.
We designed the new facility with
12 apparatus bays for the trucks and other emergency vehicles
– built as double bays to accommodate 6 trucks on either side,
all with overhead doors. Currently an all-volunteer fire department,
the building is designed to accommodate future full-time staff
with everything from dormitory rooms to a training center. As
a result, the fire station has become a focal point for community
pride.
