The challenge
at hand was to transform a dilapidated, abandoned gas station
into an attractive structure that befits its location – a one-acre,
triangle-shaped site at a prime intersection in the Town of
Cary. Our approach fit perfectly to manage the inherent challenges
of a transformational project with significant civic planning
restrictions.
In-house design talent at Bobbitt used
a turn-of-the-century Flatiron architectural approach to create
a striking 11,000 sq. ft. mixed-use commercial building wedged
into this unique site. What was once an eyesore has been transformed
into an attractive gateway into downtown Cary from the east
– as well as the 2005 award winner for the area’s best design
build project.
