Cornerstone Baptist Church
Cornerstone Baptist Church located in Darlington, S.C represents
a true design build project from beginning to end. Bobbitt was
chosen after this church, only two years old, acquired 50 acres
of land and set a master plan for five phases of development
(including education classrooms, a new sanctuary for 1,200 people
and soccer/recreation fields).
Phase I is a 34,000-square-foot
multi-purpose facility, which has provided a venue for two weekly
services, adult classrooms, middle and high school Sunday school
classes and more. For the 2,000-square-foot atrium, which includes
a balcony and state-of-the-art kitchen, Bobbitt utilized stamped
concrete flooring and high-end contemporary finishes. Phase
II of the church development is set to begin in late 2008.
Cornerstone Baptist is unique because it doubles as
a community outreach venue. A soccer league was started in fall
2007 and impressive audio-visual capabilities provide a place
for events, concerts and plays for the community.
