Bobbitt’s Commitment to Inclusiveness & Community

At Bobbitt, our people come from all walks of life. To deliver quality design and construction services that serve a broad spectrum of clients, we recognize the importance of bringing diverse minds to the table. We value the differences in each of our employees and subcontractors, their experiences and their thought processes. And we’re proud to say that over 10% of our employees are veterans of the U.S. military. Our people come together to bring building solutions to clients in diverse industries, from all backgrounds and with many unique challenges.

Our commitment to service extends beyond our company and our clients to the communities in which we work and live. We strive to be a valuable corporate citizen through philanthropy sponsored at a company-wide level, as well as supporting our employee with service projects that are near and dear to them. We have contributed both funding and in-kind services to nonprofits that fall into the following categories: children, elderly, environmental, food insecurity, homelessness, “help up” charities, medical, mental health awareness, animal welfare and veterans.

Especially meaningful to our company are those projects in which we can contribute our construction know-how to build much-needed facilities that help the underserved. Examples of these projects:

  • We are proud to have donated all design and construction service to build the facility for Alliance Medical Ministry, a hospital and clinic that provides affordable medical care for low-income, uninsured working families in Wake County.
  • Bobbitt built a new community building for Family Shelter, the South Carolina Midland’s only emergency shelter for homeless parents and children. The facility provides a stable living environment for families to develop life skills needed to regain independence.
  • We constructed a recreational facility for the Miracle League of the Triangle, enabling youth who face physical and mental challenges to play organized athletics. The specialized baseball field equipped with a rubberized playing surface was designed to accommodate children with wheelchairs. With the new Miracle League Field, these children now have an outdoor baseball field to call their own.
  • Bobbitt donated architectural services for the Cedar Point Community Center building at Cedar Point Apartments to support programs and activities that serve immigrants and refugees from all over the world.
  • Bobbitt employees continuously participate in initiatives to end hunger in our communities including volunteering at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina as well as partnering with affiliate organizations like Litesource to collect food donations.

As it relates to the environment, Bobbitt has participated in the City of Raleigh Adopt-a-Stream program since 2016. We adopted a 1-mile section of a small stream called Richland Creek. Twice a year, our team walks along the banks of the stream to pick up trash. Bobbitt values the environment and takes pride in doing what we can to preserve it.

At Bobbitt, we recognize the importance of having a diverse and socially responsible workplace. We strive to build an environment that values all employees and gives back to the communities that have so faithfully supported us throughout our 75-year history.
