Heath Springs Fire Department

Heath Springs Volunteer Fire Department is a 10,250-square-foot facility located on Duncan Street in Heath Springs. The fire station was funded by a Fire Station Construction Grant (SCG) through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“We selected Bobbitt because of their previous fire station experience and the conceptual designs they developed for our new facility,” said Fire Chief Patrick Helms.

The new station includes apparatus bays, four dorm rooms, gender specific restrooms, kitchen, offices, lobby, exercise facility, day room, training/classroom, laundry area and mechanical rooms. These additions and upgrades enable faster response times while also providing numerous training opportunities for station personnel, including a tower connected to the apparatus bay.

All elements of the new station combined allow Heath Springs Volunteer Fire Department to become a full-time department as the needs of the community grow. Located in the middle of the building that is home to Heath Springs Town Hall and includes the utility company and police station, the fire station adds to the aesthetic appeal of the town. Bobbitt’s design includes renovation of Town Hall under a separate contract.
