Bobbitt Design Build was commissioned to convert and renovate a former restaurant in Lexington, SC, into the new Singh Leite Pediatric Dentistry. Bobbitt’s architects and interior designers worked with the owner to develop a new 9,000-square-foot modern dental office while staying within the confines of the existing building.
One of the key design features is the new mezzanine in the center of the building that takes advantage of the existing building’s volume. In addition to being a key architectural feature, the mezzanine houses a conference room, break room and offices. It also serves as an overlook for employees to view the operations of the practice from above. The interior’s blend of wood, stone, concrete and exposed structure convey a strong industrial, yet inviting, environment. The exterior was renovated to include new stonework, siding, metal roof and dormer in order to give the structure a contemporary aesthetic.
