Bobbitt Design Build completed a 13,000-square-foot renovation for J.D. Byrider Auto Sales. The two-story building is located on a two-acre property on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard in Durham.
Bobbitt previously built a new J.D. Byrider dealership in Raleigh and was asked to assess the condition and suitability of a vacant building for sale in Durham. After Bobbitt provided preliminary assessments, design and retrofit budgets, the project was determined feasible. J.D. Byrider selected Bobbitt to be the design builder based on past performance.
After determining the building’s condition, needed repairs, code compliance issues and retrofitting requirements – Bobbitt resurfaced and refinished the front and side walls, replaced the rear wall, made extensive roof repairs and renovated the interiors. The work had to be completed in only eight weeks for the scheduled opening.
This project is the second J.D. Byrider franchise in the RTP and eastern N.C. areas. J.D. Byrider’s corporate headquarters is in Carmel, Indiana.
