Greyhound Van Lines Terminal

Greyhound Van Lines needed an interim location in Raleigh, N.C., until the company moves its long-term operations to the new downtown Raleigh Transit Station. Bobbitt was hired to convert an existing restaurant space located on Capital Boulevard into a bus terminal.

Bobbitt, having built the original 9,362-square-foot restaurant structure in 2005, was selected to renovate the space into a newly designed, modern terminal. The building features a pitched roof and wooden framework.

Due to the project’s change of use, Bobbitt had to address site-related issues. To determine if the new location could accommodate bus maneuvers, Greyhound provided a bus and a driver to complete test runs in and around the terminal. Bobbitt engineers then designed the station according to the findings.
