Living Arts College at School of Communication Arts selected Bobbitt Design Build to build its first dormitory and an administration/education addition. The “high definition” college, located at 3000 Wakefield Crossing Drive in Raleigh, has pioneered digital art education, offering training in interactive media, animation and game design, digital filmmaking, audio production, digital media and interior design.

The three-story, 21,000-square-foot dormitory features 37 two-bedroom suites, and the exterior has a contemporary look utilizing arches to complement the existing domed buildings on campus. The dormitory space allows students to live and study on the 8.5-acre campus and enhances the three existing classroom buildings and administration building. In addition to the dorm, a 4,600-square-foot administration/education addition provides areas for office staff, a photo and motion capture studio, and a classroom.
