The Health and Human Services facility is Pender County’s first design-build project. The multi-story structure, spanning 89,000 sqft, is strategically positioned adjacent to various county buildings.
Building from an existing programming and master plan study provided by the county, our team took a fresh look at the existing site constraints with wetlands and existing campus circulation and folded in the security, drop off requirements, and future expansion capability to create a new, more efficient facility and parking layout.
This innovative facility, developed through collaboration between Bobbitt, Cape Fear Engineering, Stewart Engineering, and Optima Engineering, aims to centralize all Health and Human Services (HHS) under one roof, which includes both the health department and the Department of Social Services. Beyond offices, the building will house training rooms and other essential spaces, fostering efficiency and synergy among county services.
